$4 Snowflake Banner - No Silhouette Needed

What is your color theme this Christmas?  I have seen the best looking turquoise, green, blue, or pink themes around the mall and in magazines.  Super pretty and to die for, but those are a little out of my comfort zone.  I am such a newbie at decorating; I'm too afraid to coordinate bold colors!

Again, just like fall, I am going with whites.  For me, white is a safe bet!  My newest creation is the silver glitter snowflake banner.  I saw this idea from a holiday magazine not too long ago.

This is incredibly easy, and you won't even need the Silhouette machine!

Materials:
  • Silver Glitter Craft Paper ($1.99 from Michaels)
  • Die Cut Snowflake Craft Paper ($1.99 from Michaels)
  • Clear Tape
  • Jute Twine

Instructions:
  • Place snowflake paper on to of silver glitter paper.
  • This craft paper cuts the perfect 6 triangles with the shortest side measuring 6 inches.  You will cut through the snowflakes.  Don't be afraid if you see fallouts!
  • Place tape along the shortest sides to attach the 2 triangles.
  • Punch holes.
  • Loop jute twine through the holes.
  • All done!

This is simple and beautiful. Changing the color of the back paper could completely change the look. I might try this in red and lime

I am so glad that you don't need a Silhouette for this project. I would love to have a Silhouette but unfortunately I don't have one. I love this banner, it looks so elegant. The white against the silver is perfect! Thanks for linking up to Make the Scene Monday!
